The empty spot, however, is my old room -- I called dibs on ex-roommate's bigger room, obviously. Tenure, or something like that. Is that what that's called?
It was a pretty easy move, from one end of the house to the other... I wasn't really thinking about taking before pictures, which is silly. I managed to snap a couple of in-progress photos:
Any time I move, my collection of things shrinks, which is funny since I don't own a lot of stuff to begin with. I just realize how much stuff I don't pay any mind to, and I feel bad keeping it around. I ended up donating quite a bit to this great place down the street called the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, so hopefully that massively large (and dust-collecting) yarn collection, among other things, will find a cozy home!
These blinds were absolutely destroyed. We made the first of many trips to IKEA once most of the big things were in, so we could get some solid replacement blinds so my neighbors across the way there don't end up seeing something they shouldn't...
Jordan helped me get comfortable with a power drill.
Pogo was not happy about the loud noises and why I was suddenly twice as tall.
Much better!!
The future holds a few more trips to IKEA and a *lot* of cleaning. Makin' way for the bestie to move in, start off fresh, and start really nestling into the biggest Nerdery this side of the bay. ;)
Stay tuned for the "after!"

Wow, I love the new blinds!! I didn't realize it was that simple. I may upgrade ours. :D
ReplyDeleteIkea, I'm tellin' ya, that place is a life saver!
