Well, my friends, I am pretty much done moving my stuff in to the new room and getting it all put together. I wouldn't mind some carpet deep cleaning, but we'll get there some day later on in the future. (Maybe once Pogo decides that the litter box is the only worthy place to empty his bladder... grumblegrumble...)
I don't own a lot of stuff. I'm okay with that for now, as we're renting and I'm not in a place to really hunker down and nest and stay put forever. Most of my belongings are currently basics: clothes, books... and then trinket-y things. I have a lot of trinket-y things. Little jars of buttons and sea shells and rocks, boxes full of random tidbits from days long gone ("memory boxes," do you have them?), and the like. Oh, and also hats. Lots of hats.

Looks like Pogo made his way into that closet before
I realized it. What a messy ol' roommate!
Thanks for following along! This is a new, awesome chapter in my life (and Jordan and Jimmy's, too) and it's just gonna be great. :]

I love EVERYTHING on your bookshelf. <3
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have good taste. :D
DeleteYour new room looks great. Doesn't it feel good to be organized!? I love moving for just that reason.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I totally have memory boxes. Too many of them, in fact. I find that when I go through them now, I don't even remember the significance of some of the items. So silly. It's fun to go through them, though. You get to see what was important to you at a different time in your life.
Good luck settling in to your new living arrangement. I hope it's awesome!
YES, THAT! I've gone through my memory boxes so many times only to find I have *no* idea what that red bouncy ball is from, what that key goes to or where I found it, or who drew that weird picture of me. I have tried to whittle it down to keeping only a Jordan/Kayla keepsake box... but I absolutely can't part with some of these random, decade-old items that I thought I would never forget when I added them to those breaking-down shoeboxes covered in pictures of bands that are awful (hindsight is 20/20). The fourteen year old me would scream blasphemy if I ever got rid of that weird baseball card covered in glitter glue...
DeleteThanks for the good wishes! <3 It's great so far!
Have fun settling into your new space! I think when my mister and I move we might have to acquire a new roommate. It worries me, but I hope we're as lucky as it seems you ended up!
ReplyDeleteI won't lie, finding a good roommate is *not* easy... but if you manage to get a good one, it makes a MASSIVE difference in your house's atmosphere! I've had some really terrible roommate situations and it just devastated my comfort levels where I was living. But I've also had some awesome ones, and it made life way more fun. :]
DeleteGood luck on the roommate hunt! I hope you catch a good one! <3
I just stumbled on your blog and just had to leave a comment...I just love your optimism!!! Here's to new great starts!
ReplyDeleteCome on over and follow along my blog all about color! I think you'd enjoy it (but than again I might be a little bias?! ha)
