weekend links, 7/28/12

This week just straight up whizzed by!  Here are some things I found around the internet this week and rather liked:

// I want this mason jar herb garden.  In my kitchen.  Immediately.  For guaranteed [fresh] deliciousness.

// Have you ever watched a YouTube video, and out of morbid curiosity scrolled down to the comments, only to find that all of the world's biggest morons, assholes, and bigots have collected to write comments to burn your eyes straight out of your head?  This browser extension turns all YouTube comments into a series of "Herp Derp Herp Derp Herp herpherpherpderp derp DerpHerpDerp"s.  It might just be the greatest invention since the internet itself.

// This comic, "Welcome To Science," uses a Phil Plait (of Bad Astronomer fame) speech warmed my heart to no end.  Jordan shared it with me and I realized that it's the same artist who did this Carl Sagan comic, which I also loved... so, clearly this Gavin Aung fellow and I should high five for science.

// Why are these not purchasable as prints?  Nerdy Dirty Illustrations for Nerds In Love.  I am particularly fond of this one (right), the "You melt my solid inner core" one because it's delightful and true.

// Nathan Fillion is such a cool dude.  Apparently, while at Comic-Con he handed out these cards to fans -- he was so incredibly busy, but didn't want his fans to feel neglected.  I approve of this gesture.

// I want everything in this shop.  And this one.  And this one too. And this one and this one and this one and this one!  Clearly, I'm on a crafting crusade and am in love with pretty tapes and assorted paper ephemera... and by "in love" I also mean "obsessed."  (p.s. and this one.)

// I'm excited to see this free performance by the San Francisco Ballet tomorrow as part of the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco!
