what's in my bag?

Happy Wednesday!

I've always loved everyone's "What's In My Bag?" posts.  They're few and far between (I understand why, how often do we stray from carrying The Essentials around with us?) but it always strikes me as something that says a lot about the person.  What they deem important enough to carry around with them on a day-to-day basis is pretty telling!  So, here I am, giving myself away with my first What's In My Bag post:

1: My tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.  I often take this out when I know I'm just going on a quick errand, but any place where I may be sitting for awhile, this baby is awesome.  I also love the calendar layout for Android tablets -- it's just so clean and lovely to look at!
2: My phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III.  I don't know when I got all super-rah-rah Samsung, but they make a solid device, I'll tell ya what.  Read more about my thoughts on this new piece of techy beauty HERE.
3: My Wonder Woman wallet... poor thing is peeling and falling apart, but how I love it so.
4: My little bag o' girly things.  And by girly things, I pretty much mean only bobby pins, nail clippers, some Claritin and some Q-Tips.  I'm pretty weird about my ears and Q-Tip several times a day... They are essential to my quality of life.  < / end quirk >
5: Headphones. With built-in microphone and music player/volume buttons.  Necessity.
6: Keys [car, home, file cabinet at work, IKEA and Planet Fitness membership cards].
7: Sunglasses from Old Navy.
8: SUPER - Detox Elixir.  It's the most refreshing thing ever for faces ever. (I paid for it with my own money and these are totally my unsolicited opinions!)  Great for when my face just feels blah or after the gym or when I'm tired.  Shrinks pores & reduces redness & no harsh chemicals = bonus!
9: A ring that Jordan's sister-in-law bought for me for Christmas, that she'd seen on one of my Pinterest boards... it's so pretty.  I'm not overflowing with jewelry, but even if I were, this would be one of my favorite pieces.  Actually, everything in Moss & Mist's Etsy shop would be one of my favorite pieces...
10: And, of course, the bag to hold all these things.  I bought it on Etsy from a seller named TippyThai, and it's awesome.  ** "Resistance Is Futile," tea love, and pretty owl buttons not included.

I often wonder if I carry too much around with me, but really, I can't imagine being without any of the above.  Except for the tablet, but that's a special case.  :]  Have you done a "What's in my bag" post?  I'd love to see it!

  1. You use Q-Tips numerous times a day! That is quirky. I'm kind of afraid of Q-Tips myself, although I use them.

    1. Yep! In the morning and before bed at least. It's definitely a little on the weird side, but I guess I'm just weird about my ears in general. Like... whispering or blowing hot air into them will either get you punched or leave me squirming for about five minutes.

When I said "a little on the weird side" it is now officially "totally definitely weird."

  3. I love these posts! Mine is kind of similar except add a massive bunch of gross tissues, chocolate wrappers and receipts. I just can't keep them out!

    1. Oh man, my last purse was stuffed with receipts... now I try and consciously keep my bag clean (it's new, so the longer I have it the less I'm sure I'll try, haha). So the receipts just end up stuffing the wallet... sometimes to the point where it won't close. Sigh. It's such a small thing, and yet so difficult :[

  4. What an awesome wallet! And that mist sounds pretty awesome, will have to check that out sometime...

I love bag posts too; I think that's the thing, being able to get a glimpse of what someone's like from the contents of their bag. It's so neat! I did one a WHILE back - maybe I'll have to revisit it sometime (though I don't think much has changed, haha): http://mylifeasateacup.blogspot.com/2011/03/day-8.html

    1. Oh wow, I love that post! I'm straight-up jealous of your Filofax... I have this tendency to buy planners and notebooks and then just resort to my phone hanging on to everything. Maybe once September rolls around and I start 30 Days of Lists... :)

Also, fun fact: I took a year of Japanese in high school and retained very little. Ten years later, I can still count to ten and formally introduce myself, but that's it... I do, however, swear by one saying that my sensei said to me one time: "To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is death." Now, I like to think she was being a little overdramatic with that last part, but.. well, let's just say I will bend over backwards to be at LEAST on time! ;)

  5. Loving that wonder woman wallet! My bag keeps updating. I may have to do a new post soon, as I've been carrying the strangest things around since going back to work at the daycare.

also, hooray for geeky buttons! <3

    1. I have a slight problem with buying Wonder Woman related things... I bought the same WW mug in 2 different cities on 2 very separate occasions by accident. When I realized it, I was just like, "Oh well. One for coffee, one for tea!" I regret nothing. ;)
