30 Days of Lists, week two

Since I was so late in sharing my first week of lists, here comes week two not long after!  I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I'd even make it half-way, because I often get intimidated by daily repeating tasks and if I miss a day, that usually leads to two, and then a week, and then it's all over.  But I'm still going strong!

Day 8:  Outside My Front Door.  I live across the street from an elementary school, which is neat (albeit loud and traffic-congested around 3pm on school days).  I rather love my neighborhood; it feels like a neat little quiet community.

Day 9:  "Today you can find me..." I really didn't do much that day aside from organize my suddenly-large papercraft area and playing Guild Wars 2.  Man, that game is good.  Laundry hit the backburner that day, but I'm sure it was all made worth it by an awesome longbow.

Day 10:  "I Am At My Best When..."  I never noticed how sharp my drop in mood and kindness is when I'm hungry until Jordan pointed out that trait in himself.  Seriously, when I hit a certain point, I am annoyed by anything you say or do and doing everything I can to keep my mouth shut until there is a plate of food in front of me.  I am also an uncomfortable, bumbling idiot around strangers, and don't do well without sleep or coffee.

Day 11:  Favorite Scents and Smells.  I didn't like most smells (seriously, it was my least favorite sense!) until I quit smoking... and now things smell fucking incredible.  I still don't breathe in if someone I don't know passes too close to me (weird habit, because who knows, maybe they smell like pee?  Or like terrible dollar-store hair gel?  You never know!!) but OMG RAIN.  I don't know if I ever really smelled rain before I quit smoking.  And a freshly-mowed lawn?  WHATEVER, WORLD.  Incredible!

Day 12:  Fictional Places I'd Like To Live.  Really, I just want to be on a starship.  Or on an island full of warm-hearted Amazons... or a really neat old-timey stone wall city with street merchants.  But really, I just want to be on a starship (massive galactic threat or not).

Day 13:  Dinner Party Guests.  So, yeah, obviously Carl Sagan.  And Cara Santa Maria because she'd geek out over Carl Sagan having dinner with us just as much, if not more, than I would.  Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz from NYPD Blue because I would cry tears of joy and just hug both of them forever, and RuPaul because she would make me feel fucking fabulous, even if I were a lousy cook.  Lastly, Sir Patrick Stewart, because I want to give him all the high fives and try to convince him to adopt me.

Day 14:  "I Know I Am Getting Older When..."  I am tired almost all the time.  I am not going to see Tilly and the Wall in San Francisco because I have to work the next morning.  I worry about my eating habits, teenagers look like toddlers, and seriously, who the fuck is Skrillex?  Is that "dubstep?"

Here's hoping I keep it up for the next 2 weeks!  I am loving this project so much.  It will be an awesome keepsake to look back on when I'm older and get a good picture of myself for the month of September of 2012 (the month & year I turn a quarter century old!).

  1. I am AWFUL when I'm hungry. Speaking of food and keeping it listy, if I could invite anyone to dinner it would be the members of Tool. That would be sweet.
